Ashfield Junior School

SEND Information

‘Together we achieve’.

Our Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) is Mrs Jessica James and she can be contacted by email: [email protected] or through the school office 01900 604565.

Our motto is central to our aim that all children should thrive in our school in all aspects of their personal development. We aim to identify and support children who have specific areas of difficulty, so that they can achieve their full academic and social potential and have equal access to a broad, balanced curriculum.

Resourced Provision Facility – Treetops

In September 2021, we were allocated with three Resourced Provision places for Autism.

Our Resourced Provision space is known as Treetops and offers a variety of different areas, including a quiet, reading area; a craft area and a dedicated learning area. Children with a Resourced Provision place will work in small groups within Treetops but are also supported to access our mainstream classrooms, wherever possible. The aim of our Resourced Provision, is to support the children to develop strategies to help them transition into a mainstream environment, whilst also supporting their social and academic needs.

We pride ourselves on our inclusive practice and work hard to ensure all our Resourced Provision pupils have the opportunity to work alongside their year group peers. We offer a flexible curriculum to ensure learning is personalised to meet the individual needs of the pupils.

Local Offer

Local authorities are required to set out a local offer of services available to support children who are disabled or who have Special Educational Needs.

The local offer enables families to understand what services they can access and what support they can expect from a range of local agencies.

Our local offer explains the support that you will get from Ashfield Junior School if your child has additional needs.

Our local offer can be found here https://ashfieldjunior local offer
